Marilyn (K. "Jane") Rose

Marilyn K. Rose, 81, of East Hartford died Friday, (March 31, 2006) at home. The widow of Walter Rose, she leaves her son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Joanne Rose of Springfield, MA; her daughter, Elaine of Asheville, NC; her sister, Judith Scolnick of Jerusalem, Israel; several cousins and nephews; and her pets, Mike and Maddie. Marilyn was a grade school teacher in the East Hartford school system for nearly 30 years. She earned her Masters degree in education at St. Joseph College in 1970, and an undergraduate degree from Simmons College in 1946. Marilyn’s interests included her children, family and neighbors, her pets, and her home. Services will be held at Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Avenue, Hartford at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 4. The family asks that memorial gifts be made to any of the charities that she supported in lieu of flowers. A list will be made available.
