Marilyn (Fineberg) Elsner

ELSNER, Marilyn (Fineberg) Elsner, 81, passed away peacefully, Sunday, April 16, 2006. She is the beloved wife of 49 years of Morton A. Elsner. Born May 31, 1924 in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Morris W. and Ida (Leman) Fineberg and the sister of the late Judge David L. Fineberg and his late wife Barbara. She also leaves three nieces, Marcia F. Lerer and her husband Hagai of Loxahatchee, FL, Diane Hinze and her husband Michael of Willamette, IL, and Lara Cooper and her husband Dwight of Andover, MA; grandnephews and grandniece, Michael Louis Lerer, Emma Rose Hinze, and Eric David Cooper; a step-son, Dr. William Elsner and his wife Carlene of Atlanta, GA; and two grandchildren, Heather E. Elsner and Ashley M. Elsner. She was educated in the Hartford public schools. She was a graduate of Saint Joseph College. Mrs. Elsner served as treasurer of several local organizations, and she was a member of and contributor to several philanthropic organizations. For some years she was employed as secretary to the then manager of the Hartford Division of Southern New England Telephone Company. She shared with her husband a particular interest in the Hartford Public Library. She was a member of Congregation Beth Israel of West Hartford. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 20, 2006 at 10:00 AM in the Silberman Chapel at Congregation Beth Israel, 701 Farmington Ave., West Hartford with Rabbi Stephen Fuchs officiating. Interment will follow in Beth Israel Cemetery, Hartford. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford.
