Marie Bayer

Marie Bayer of Avon, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2005. Marie’s life began in Whittier, CA, where she was born on June 22, 1957, the second child of Lynn and Raymond Jansen. Two years later, the family moved to Long Beach, where she lived until 1972 when her family emigrated to Great Britain. Marie loved the movies, and in 1980 she returned to Southern California to pursue a successful career in film production. She married Marc Bayer in 1988 and four years later they moved to Connecticut, where their daughter Alexandra was born. In March of this year, Marie married Mick Malek, who has cared for her with a steadfast tenderness through the illness of her last five years. She is returning to California to rest in peace. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 4th at 2:00 PM in the Farmington Valley Jewish Congregation-Emek Sholom, 55 Bushy Hill Road, Simsbury 06070 with Rabbi Howard Herman officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn in Long Beach, California. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marie’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
