Mania (Goldapel) Lejfer, 89 years of age, of Manalapan, NJ, formerly of Colchester, CT passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015. She was the widow of Berl Lejfer. A Holocaust survivor, she was born in Krylow, Poland, the daughter of the late David and Chaya (Einhorn) Goldapel. She was a member of Congregation Ahavath Achim of Colchester, CT. She leaves three sons and their wives, David and Cheryl Lejfer of Simsbury, Jefferey and Michele Lejfer of Manalapan, NJ, Sidney and Nancy Lejfer of Newton, MA., grandchildren Mara and her husband Ori Yacobi, Ari , Lawrence, Brian, Hannah, Benjamin, Samuel and Pauline Lejfer, and great-grandchildren Erez, Maya, and Ethan Yacobi. She also leaves her sister Bella Rosenberg of Merrick, NY and Jenya Szajntop of Melbourne, Australia and many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 om on Sunday, March 22, 2015 in the Sanctuary of Congregation Ahavath Achim, 84 Lebanon Ave, Colchester, CT with Rabbi Kenneth Alter officiating. Interment will follow in the Congregation Ahavath Achim Cemetery, Colchester, CT. Shiva will be observed Monday through Wednesday at the home of Sid and Nancy Lejfer in Newton, MA and Monday through Friday at the home of Jefferey and Michele Lejfer in Manalapan, NJ.
