Lynette (Berkowitz) Cohen

Lynette (Berkowitz) Cohen, of Steele Road, West Hartford, passed away September 14, 2006 at age 90 in West Hartford. Beloved wife of the late Louis M. Cohen, cherished mother of Dr. Susan Casden of New York, NY and Andrea Bogdan (Ed) of Fairfax, VA, adored grandmother of Jonathan (Wendy), Greg (Amy), Lindsay (Jamie) and Josh; great grandmother of Nicky; and sister of Blanche Harman of West Hartford. Born in Hartford to Katie (Brody) Berkowitz and Louis Berkowitz and loving daughter of Alice Berkowitz. She was a member of Congregation Beth Israel, West Hartford, and Tumble Brook Country Club, Bloomfield. Lynette was well known throughout the Hartford Community for her talents as a dancer, her generosity as a volunteer; a truly remarkable woman, she will be remembered by all with love for her kindness, optimism, zest for life and loving spirit. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2006 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi Stephen Fuchs officiating. Interment will follow in the Beth Israel Cemetery, Hartford. A memorial period will be observed at the McAuley, 275 Steele Road, West Hartford on Sunday, following the funeral. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
