Lucy C. Climan, 84, of 1 Hamilton Heights Drive, formerly of 20 Westmoreland Drive, West Hartford, died peacefully on March 4, 2008. Born in New York City, she was the daughter of Meyer Chaimas and Sally Creske Chaimas. She received a bachelor’s degree from Queens College in New York. In 1950, she married the late Sir Raphael Tuck, an English barrister who later became a member of the British Parliament. They resided initially in New Orleans, where he was a professor at Tulane University, and then for many years in London. After returning to the United States, Lucy subsequently married the late Marshall E. Climan of West Hartford and then lived in West Hartford for close to 45 years. Marshall and Lucy had many friends in the local area. They travelled extensively abroad. Lucy kept in touch with several close English friends over the years and made a number of trips to Britain. She was for many years director of personnel for several department stores. After her retirement, she was active with the American Association of Retired Persons and was president of the AARP?s West Hartford chapter. She leaves several cousins and friends. Lucy was greatly assisted in her final months by her nurse?s aide, Merle Melhado. She also was very appreciative of the help she received from Robin Veitas, RN, and her colleagues at Vitas hospice services and from the skilled and caring nursing staff at Hamilton Heights. The arrangements have been entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary. In accordance with Lucy?s wishes, there will be no memorial service.
