Louis Lipa’ Goldberg, 92 of West Hartford, beloved husband of the late Anna (Postan) Goldberg, died Sunday, August 16, 2009. Born in Sochachev, Poland, he was the son of the lateHaim and Alte Leah (Diament) Goldberg. Louis was a Holocaust survivor and was the only one of his seven member family to survive World War II. He served in the Soviet Army and fought the Nazis from Stalingrad to Dresden. He lived in Minsk, Belarus, and Lodz, Poland before coming to Hartford with his family in 1965. He is survived by his three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jeff and Rina Goldberg, Lew and Laura Goldberg, and Aaron Goldberg; and by his two grandchildren, Julie and Mark Goldberg. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi Joseph Gopin officiating. Interment will follow in the Workmen?s Circle Branch 15 Cemetery, Garden St., Hartford.
