Linda (Most) Newman

Linda Goldie (Most) Newman, 63, of Milford, died surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday (November 16, 2005). Born on November 21, 1941 in Bridgeport, she was the daughter of the late William and Edith Most. For the past 33 years she made her home in Milford. A graduate of Central High School in Bridgeport, she volunteered and worked for the City of Milford at Live Oaks School as a teacher’s aide. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Saul Newman, her daughter Susan (Newman) Cohn and her husband Samuel Cohn and their children, Joshua and Sarah of West Hartford; her son Brian Newman and his wife Lori Newman and their children Rebecca and Harrison of West Hartford; her daughter Beverly Newman of Milford; and her son Jason Newman and his wife Christine Newman and their child David of West Hartford. She is also survived by a brother, Charles Most and his wife Carol of Milford as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Adrienne Silverstein of Fairfield. Linda Goldie Newman was loved and admired by all who knew her. The Family wishes to thank the entire staff of The Connecticut Hospice in Branford for their special loving care. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 18, at 11:00 AM at The Emanuel Synagogue, 160 Mohegan Drive, West Hartford, with Rabbi David J. Small officiating. Internment will follow at the Emanuel Cemetery in Wethersfield. A Memorial Period will be observed at the home of Brian Newman. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Connecticut Hospice, Branford or The Emanuel Synagogue, 160 Mohegan Drive, West Hartford.
