Linda Ruth (Goldberg) Cabanas, 78, of Windsor, CT passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. She was born April 8, 1947 in Hartford, CT to Abraham and Bertha (Bartenstein) Goldberg. She grew up as well as remained a lifelong resident of Windsor, CT. She was well known in her community, from Windsor Federal to the Windsor PD and town social workers (especially Eliana), to the post office and other town employees for her spunky personality and was very appreciative of their compassion, companionship and support through all the many phone calls, as she loved reaching out to them all frequently, leaving a lasting impression.
She worked many years at the US Post Office on Weston Street in Hartford and at Cigna in Bloomfield. She had a fondness for dogs, especially her two babies, Benji and Grunt whom she was predeceased by.
She is survived by her sister Rayna Ensign of Tucson, AZ; Her nieces, Katrina Johnson and husband Matthew and great nephew Ryan and great niece Priscilla in CT; niece, Natalie Ensign of Tucson, AZ; many close friends, Matt "Mattsy" Kozloski, Carol Gilbert, Angie Capo(and her pups), Dave Howard(predeceased) and Guy Henton (predeceased). She had loving care during a stay at Kimberly Hall (especially Kate) and transitioned to her beloved home with help from community health care aids providing company and compassionate care.
Special thanks from the family to Mattsy for all his loving care and unwavering support, helping her spend her final years comfortably at home. Linda touched many lives, gave us all many, many,…many laughs (we can still hear all her one-liners in her own voice) and touched our hearts. She will not be forgotten.
