Lilyan G. (Rubin) Donner, 95, of Bloomfield, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2009. Born in Naugatuck, CT on April 11, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Yetta Rubin. She was a 1932 graduate of Naugatuck High School. Widow of Milton Donner, she lived in New York City and Waterbury, CT where she operated an antiques business with her late husband for many years. She was employed by Colonial Bank (Bank of America), retiring in 1980. She later lived in Stamford and Simsbury before moving to Seabury Retirement Community in Bloomfield in 1998.She was a past Noble Grand of Golden City Rebekah Lodge in New York City, Past Financial Secretary of Independent Brass City Lodge in Waterbury, CT and was a member of Farmington Valley Jewish Congregation- Emek Shalom in Simsbury, CT. She is survived by her son, Robert Donner and his wife Rhoda of Windsor, CT, her daughter, Elizabeth Libner of Stamford, CT, grandson, Stuart Donner and his wife, Michelle, of Sarasota, FL, granddaughter Melissa Libner of New York City, grandson Leonard Goldberg of Windsor, CT, granddaughter , Barbara LaTulip and great granddaughter, Stephanie LaTulip both of Lithia, FL and several nieces. She was predeceased by her sisters, Cecile Bornstein, Pearl Diamond and Adele Anshien, daughter-in-law, Ellen Donner, son-in-law, Leonard Libner and grandson, Frederick Donner. Special thanks to the nurses and aides who cared for Lilyan during the past 2 years at Seabury Retirement Community, Brewer Unit. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 2, 2009 at 11:00 AM at The Brass City Cemetery, Stillson Rd., Waterbury, CT. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Marriot Hotel. 28 Day Hill Rd., Windsor, CT on Monday, November 2, 2009 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. Shiva will be observed at the Home of Elizabeth Libner, 123 Pine Hill Ave., Stamford, CT.
