Lilo (Koesters) Snyder, 76 years of age, of West Hartford, died Sunday, April 3, 2011. She was the widow of Malcolm M. Snyder. Born in Germany, she was the daughter of the late Max and Irmgard (Kleeberg) Koesters. She left Holland in 1939 for England and then Canada before arriving in the United States. She was a graduate of Boston University. She was a member of Congregation Tikvoh Chadoshoh, Bloomfield, and a past president of its Sisterhood; a life member of Hadassah; a life member of the Hebrew Home & Hospital auxiliary; member of the Jewish Historical Society and JCSO. She leaves a son, Michael Snyder of West Hartford, and a daughter Elizabeth Zelek and her husband Howard of Avon. The family wishes to thank the staff at Hartford Hospital for their care and compassion and a special thank you to her private aid, Stefania Szczygiel. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at 1:30 PM in the Sanctuary of Congregation Tikvoh Chadoshoh, 180 Still Rd., Bloomfield with interment in the Tikvoh Chadoshoh Cemetery, Windsor. A private period of mourning will be observed by the family.
