Lillian (Friedman) Kamins, 90 years of age, of West Hartford, died Friday, February 3, 2012 at her home with her family at her bedside. She was the widow of Morris Kamins. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Rachael (Pickman) Friedman. She was a founding member of Beth El Temple of West Hartford and a lifetime member of Hadassah. Lillian had an artistic soul which was expressed by her joy for interior design, calligraphy and fashion. She leaves her children, Aaron ‘Ron’ M. Kamins and his wife Sue Miller Kamins of Novato, CA, Richard ‘Rick’ I. Kamins and his wife Mary Ellen Sanders of Centennial, CO, and Rachelle ‘Shelley’ S. Kamins of West Hartford; and her grandchildren, Sara, Joshua, Alexandra and Nathan Kamins. She was predeceased by her sister, Zelda Dornfield and by her brother, Joseph Friedman. Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 5, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi James Rosen officiating. Interment will follow in Beth El Temple Cemetery, Jackson St. Ext., Avon. A memorial period will be observed at her home, 158 Ballard Dr., West Hartford, Sunday following the interment until 4:00 PM, and Monday and Tuesday evenings 6:00-9:00 PM.
