Lillian Hochman of West Hartford, widow of the late William Hochman, died on Thursday, July 9th at Hartford Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Louis and Ida (Brug) Brunswick. Born in Hartford, CT, she had lived in West Hartford most of her life. She graduated from Weaver High School, and Felt and Tarrant Comptometer School of Hartford. She was employed by the CT State Comptrollers’ Office and moved on to the UCONN Health Center when it was a fledgling Medical and Dental School, housed in a mansion on Woodland St., with about 25 employees. She watched it grow to its present size and became supervisor of accounts payable. Lillian was a member of the Emanuel Synagogue, Emanuel Sisterhood, and Emanuel Minyonaires. She was also a member of Hadassah, Jewish Children’s Service Org. and the Jewish Historical Society of Greater Hartford. She is survived by her son, Dr. Howard Hochman and his wife Sally of Bloomfield and her daughter Irene (Rene) and her husband David Trueheart of North Haven. She also leaves two grandsons, Jonathan Hochman and his wife Tamara of West Hartford, and Dr. Jesse Hochman and his wife Dr. Jennifer Perone¬Hochman of Dallas, TX. She was “Grandma Lily” to 6 cherished great-grandchildren, Joey, Remie, Liam, and Oliver Hochman of West Hartford and Nathaniel and Catherine Hochman of Dallas, TX. She leaves her nephew, Howard (Bob) Hoffman and his family in Israel and his son, Larry and family of New York. She also leaves many nieces and nephews in the U.S. She was predeceased by her sister, Doris Hoffman, and brothers George, Reuben, and Sidney Brunswick. Funeral services will be held Monday July 13th at 9:30 AM at the Hartford Mutual Society Cemetery,15 Wolcott Road in East Granby. A period of mourning will be Monday from 6 to 8 PM at 1King Philip Drive in West Hartford. Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM in North Haven at the Truehearts.
