Leon Klein

Leon Klein, 87, beloved husband of Stella (Korduner) Klein, of West Hartford, died Sunday (March 5, 2006). Leon was born in Lodz, Poland on March 18, 1918. He was a Holocaust survivor and a member of the United Synagogues of Greater Hartford. H owned Leon’s Furniture Repair, servicing Greater CT stores for many years. he was a wonderful friend to all and especially enjoyed driving anybody who needed a ride. Leon was a devoted and loving husband for 60 years, father and grandfather. Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Marilyn (Klein) Scheinblum and her husband Paul of Bloomfield; a sister, Stella Zucker and her husband, Zigmund of Haifa, Israel. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Eddie and Carla of Arizona, Marc and Tanya, Scott, and Debbie all of Manchester; and three great-grandchildren, Thomas, Tyler and Liya. He also leaves sister-in-laws, Betty Shuch, Sylvia Korduner and her husband Peter, Raye Kramer, Sylvia Goldfarb, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday 12:30 p.m. in the chapel of Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., with burial in 1st Ludmir Benevolent Assoc. Cemetery, Wethersfield. Shiva will be at the home of his daughter, 10 F Westview Drive (600 Apts.), Bloomfield, thru Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to United Synagogues of Greater Hartford, PO Box 37055-06137, West Hartford or to the Hebrew Home and Hospital.
