Leah (Morris) Yudkovitz

Leah (Morris) Yudkovitz, 87 of South Main St., West Hartford, formerly of Fairlawn, NJ and Scranton, PA, died Monday (November 19, 2007). Born in Scranton, PA, she was the daughter of the late George and Katie (Kessler) Morris. A beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, she was loved by all who knew her. Leah was actively involved for over 40 years in the Fairlawn Jewish Center in New Jersey and was a mainstay in all aspects of Synagogue life. She leaves her husband of 66 years, Julius Yudkovitz, a son, Joel B. Yudkovitz and his wife Gail of Westfield, NJ, a daughter, Debra Yudkovitz Bennett and her husband Rabbi Jeffrey Bennett of West Hartford, four grandchildren: Michael and Anna Bennett, Robin and Emily Yudkovitz, and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside funeral service will be held TODAY Tuesday, November 20, at 12 Noon in the Dalton Cemetery, Dalton, PA. A Memorial Period will be observed at her daughter’s home, 25 Woodrow St., West Hartford on Wednesday with services at 7 p.m.; Saturday evening at 5:30 p.m., and Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Temple Sinai, 41 West Hartford Road, Newington 06111.
