Leah Yellen

Leah (Blacher) Yellen of Valley Forge, PA, formerly of Avon and Bloomfield, wife of the late Daniel R. Yellen, died Thursday June 8, 2006. Born in Springfield, MA, she was the daughter of the late Morris and Pauline (Price) Blacher. Leah worked as a dental assistant before starting her family. She was a dedicated mother and homemaker. Sisterhood President of Beth Ahm in Windsor during its founding year, she also worked for many years for the American Cancer Society as a Fund Raising Drive Coordinator. She is survived by a daughter; Judith Yellen Lemco and her husband Jonathan of Valley Forge, PA; a son, Mark Yellen and his wife Judith DeWitt of Los Angeles, CA; loving grandchildren, Allie and David Lemco, and Jackson Yellen, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her sister Florence and her brother Harvey. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 11, 2006 at 12:30 PM in the Hartford Mutual Society Cemetery, Wolcott Rd., East Granby with Rabbi Michael Pincus officiating.
