Lawrence "Larry" Schwartz

Lawrence ‘Larry’ Schwartz, 99 years of age, of West Hartford, CT, died Tuesday, December 27, 2011. Born in New York, NY, he was the son of the late Adolph and Anna (Horn) Schwartz. He leaves his loving wife of 68 years, Evelyn (Greene) Schwartz; his daughter, Riki Motes and her partner Dean Scheffler of Avon, CT; his son, David Schwartz and his wife Joanne of Niskayuna, NY; grandchildren, Michael Brown and his wife Donna Kottler, Stephanie Burke and her husband Ryan, Darren Schwartz, Debra Sinclair and her husband Larry, and Sharon Macchi; and great-grandchildren, Zachary, Cassie, Lauren, Sara, Alexandra, Sophia, Brandon, Zachary, and Elle. Larry worked at NASA and helped put the first man on the moon. He also was a fine musician, tenor saxophone and clarinet, playing with many of the big name bands, mostly Larry Clinton and Ben Bernie. But more importantly, he was a devoted husband, adoring father, grandfather and great-grandfather who lived for his family. He will be missed by all. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 30, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford, CT. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Whitman Ave., West Hartford, CT. Shiva will be observed at his home, 893 Farmington Ave., Apt 4-I, West Hartford Friday following the interment and Sunday 2:00-4:00 PM.
