Laura Strupp Aronstein, born June 18th 1931 in Bad Nauheim, Germany, died in Boca Raton, Florida on Friday May 12. Laura was the devoted and loving wife of 60 years to now deceased, Eric Aronstein. Laura was the loving mother of daughter Gayle Aronstein Lieberman, son Gary Aronstein, grandmother to Stephen Brown and Lauren Brown whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by daughter-in-law Amy Aronstein, son-in-law Robert Lieberman. Laura leaves behind many dear friends in the Hartford, CT area, in addition to her newer friends in Boca Raton, FL. She was the daughter of Isadore Strupp and Betty Sondhelm Strupp.
Laura emigrated to the U.S in 1935, and settled with her parents in Bloomfield, New Jersey. After graduating from Bloomfield High School in 1949, she then attended and graduated from Secretarial School in 1951. She soon found work in New York City.
After a whirlwind engagement, Laura married Eric Aronstein in 1955 and coincidentally moved to Bloomfield, CT. She helped Eric at Oxford Stores, a five and dime in Hartford CT. After raising her son and daughter, she worked for 20 years at CT General Life Insurance (now Cigna). Laura rose to the rank of Supervisor in the claims department.
Laura was a member of Congregation Tikvoh Chadosha (now B’nai Tikvoh Sholom) while living in Bloomfield CT.
Laura will be interred at the B’nai Tikvoh Sholom cemetery in Windsor, CT. The funeral will be private, and attended by family members only.
