June (P.) Sandler

June P. Sandler, 83, surrounded by her family, left this life on Sunday, May 3, 2015, at St. Francis Hospital. June was the daughter of Barney and Minnie (Kagan) Pearlman, and was raised in Revere, Massachusetts, having been graduated as Salutatorian of her senior class at Revere High School, Class of 1950.
June was the wife of Gerald Sandler for almost 58 years, having begun their married life in Fall River, Massachusetts. Eventually they moved to Hartford, CT, where their son, Scott, and daughter, Deborah Strzeszkowski, were born. Their permanent home was in Newington, CT.
June was a star sales associate for G. Fox at Westfarms Mall and stayed with that company through its many changes until she retired after more than 30 years. She was a member of the Sisterhood of Temple Sinai of Newington.
June was predeceased by her brother, Robert Pearlman, and her nephew, Marc Pearlman, and her brother-in-law, George Sandler. In addition to her husband and children, she is survived by her son-in-law, Matthew Strzeszkowski, her grandchildren, Joshua, Julia, Sasha, and Krista, her sister-in-law, Lillian Pearlman, and nephew, Earl H. Pearlman and his wife, Paula, and their daughter, Lisa, and her sister-in-law, Charlotte Sandler, and her children, Ronald, David, and Debra Sandler, and her loving dog, Abby.
A funeral service will be held this Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., at Temple Sinai of Newington, 41 West Hartford Road, Newington. Interment will follow in the Temple Sinai Memorial Park. A private period of mourning will be observed by the family.
