Julius Yudkovitz, 94 years of age, of South Main St., West Hartford, CT formerly of Fair Lawn, NJ and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, PA, died Friday, October 1, 2010. He was the husband of the late Leah (Morris) Yudkovitz. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Morris and Minnie (Ziegler) Yudkovitz. A beloved husband, father and grandfather, he was loved by all who knew him. Julius worked for General Motors throughout his life until his retirement. He was actively involved for over 40 years in the Fair Lawn Jewish Center in New Jersey, particularly with the Men’s Club, and was a mainstay in all aspects of synagogue life. Since his move to Connecticut in 2006, he became a beloved member of Temple Sinai in Newington and a fixture at Shabbat and holiday services. He leaves his daughter, Debra Yudkovitz Bennett and her husband, Rabbi Jeffrey Bennett, of West Hartford, CT; his son, Joel B. Yudkovitz and his wife, Gail, of Westfield, NJ; four grandchildren, Michael and Anna Bennett, and Robin and Emily Yudkovitz; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 3, 2010 at 11:30 AM in the Workmen’s Circle Branch #112 Section of the Dalton Cemetery, 105 Shoemaker Rd., Dalton, PA. Shivah will be observed at the home of his daughter, 25 Woodrow St., West Hartford, CT from Monday evening to Thursday evening with a service each evening at 7 PM.
