Julius (H. "Mike") Michelson

Julius “Mike” Michelson, 86 years of age, of Lake Worth, FL, formally of Windsor, CT, died on Sunday, July 24, 2016. He was the beloved husband of the late Marlene Michelson. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Abraham and Sadie (Straushun) Michelson. For the last twenty years, Mike shared a wonderful life with Phyllis Margolin, of Lake Worth FL.

Mike could always be counted on to tell a great story, make his friends laugh and lend a helping hand. Mike attended Weaver High School in Hartford CT, served in the U.S. Army, and worked at A&P and Waldbaums. In his free time, Mike loved to play golf and tennis, travel with Phyllis, and socialize with his many friends.

He leaves his children, Alan H. Michelson of South Windsor, CT and Brenda M. Michelson, of Cumberland County, ME; as well as his nephews Jeff and Barry, his niece Andria, his sister-in-law Peggy, and the children Kathleen and Bill, Leslie and Shawn, and grandchildren Aaron, Celia, Ari and Randy of his second family. Mike was predeceased by his siblings: Seymour, Arnold, Reva and Claire.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 28, 2016 in the Beth Hillel Synagogue Cemetery, 100 Wolcott Road, East Granby, CT with Rabbi Philip Lazowski officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to any charity of personal significance to the giver. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford, CT.
