Judith ("Judy") Wrubel

Judith “Judy” Wrubel of Bloomfield passed away on November 29, 2015. In 1951, she married the love of her life and best friend, her late husband Mel. Together they shared 58 devoted years. Born in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late Sally (Leibowitz) and Edward Wacks. In 1950, Judy graduated from Yale New Haven School of Radiologic Technicians. She was a member of the Society of Radiologic Technicians, Auxiliary of the UCONN AZO Pharmaceutical Fraternity, the Hartford Mutual Society, Beth Hillel Sisterhood, and a life member of Hadassah. She leaves a son Jeffrey Wrubel (Debbie) of West Hartford, daughters Susan Wrubel (William Ruocchio) of Colchester, Marcy Girard of the Colony, TX and Sharon Lavoie (Paul) of East Hartford; grandchildren Greg Wrubel (Stacey), Lisa Joseph(Brandon), Eric Girard, Melissa Gurley(Mathew), Jennifer Girard, Joshua Lavoie(Rosalee Boudreau), Kevin Lavoie; 7 great grandchildren; brother Michael Wacks, sister Hannah Scher; brother in law Bennett Wrubel, sister in law Muriel Wrubel,and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters Beverly Furman and Sara Buddington, brother Jerry Wacks, and sister in law Stella Wacks. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave, Hartford. Internment will follow in the Hartford Mutual Society Cemetery, East Granby. The family then invites you to join them at Temple Sinai, 41 West Hartford Rd, Newington, until 5 P. M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Helen and Harry Gray Cancer Center, or the Hartford Chapter of Hadassah.
