Jeanette (E. (Thomas)) Wofsy

Jeanette Wofsy passed away on May 3, 2015, with her beloved husband and sons by her side. Born in Brooklyn NY, February 11, 1961 and a long time resident of both New Britain and Rocky Hill, Jeanette fought a valiant battle against cancer. She leaves behind her husband of 30 years, Mike Wofsy and her cherished sons Malcolm and Jacob & wife Stacey. She also leaves her dear sister Laura & Steve Pepler and son Dylan of Wethersfield, as well as her brother Michael & Tina Thomas of Michigan, , and children Noah and Megan. She is also survived by in-laws Elliot & Bonnie Firestone, Lisa & Craig Rydecki, Sheila & Reggie Wofsy-Lenoir, and much-loved nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Barbara Thomas of New Britain and Richard Thomas of Bristol. Jeanette graduated from Pulaski High School in New Britain in 1979. After working for years in the family business (Mike’s Sealing Genie), she moved on to Honeywell International, Life Safety Division, in Northford, CT where she was Customer Service Manager for over 10 years. There was nothing more important to Jeanette than her family and she was fierce in defense of her dearly-loved sons. She loved her job and the people she worked with. Her smile always lit up the room. She will be missed by the people who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be at Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave, Hartford, 10 a.m. Thursday, May 7. Burial will be private. The family will receive relatives and friends at the home of Elliot Firestone following the funeral, and at the Wofsy home on Friday 6 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society , Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, or your favorite charity
