Jake Kaplan

Jake Kaplan, 79, of Lyman Road, West Hartford, died Wednesday August 3, 2005 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Charles and Bessie (Lev) Kaplan. He was a US Marine Veteran of World War II, and a member of the Jewish War Veterans. He leaves his wife of 59 years, Lorraine (Kroopnick) Kaplan; a son, Harris Kaplan of West Hartford; a sister-in-law, Beverly Davidson; a niece Norell Berlin and her husband Michael; a great nephew Brandon; and a close friend, James Cunningham. A graveside funeral service will be held TODAY, Friday, August 5, at 10:00 AM at Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. A private period of mourning will be observed by the family. Memorial contributions may be made to a Charity of the Donor’s Choice. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford.
