He was a proud US Army Veteran of the Korean War. Upon his return from service, he started his own business, Capitol City Credit Company, which he ran with his wife Olga for over 50 years. Jack especially enjoyed spending time with his loving wife, Olga (Sowalsky) Smith, his children Suzanne Sussman and her husband Marc of Simsbury, Paul Smith and his wife Denise of Farmington, and grandchildren Joshua and Matthew Sussman, and Zachary and Alexa Smith. He will also be dearly missed by his brother Harvey Smith of West Hartford, and many other wonderful relatives and friends. He was a very special, courageous and much-loved person who enjoyed life as it was. Jack will be remembered for his funny and sometimes silly jokes, always trying to make you laugh, forever sending his kids and grandkids articles and comics that would make them smile. He was always thinking about everyone else.
