Israel (Bruce) Portnoy

Israel Bruce Portnoy, 93 years of age of West Hartford passed Tuesday, January 24, 2017. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of Sam and Anna (Chopsky) Portnoy. Israel served in the US Air Corps during WWII and was graduated from LIU.

He worked in numerous sales and management positions including C&S Distributors.

He leaves his wife Florence (Florrie Marcus) Portnoy; his sons, Neil, and Michael (Susan); daughter Lisa, grandchildren, Andrew (Nicole), Elizabeth, Olivia; great-grandson, Gabriel; sister, Anita (Martin); sister-in-law, Janet; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Avenue, Hartford with Rabbi James Rosen officiating. Interment will follow in Beth El Temple Cemetery, Jackson St. Ext., Avon.
