It was fitting that our beloved husband, father and grandfather IRVING PATRON, a World War II Prisoner of War and true patriot, died on Monday, Memorial Day. Irving, 90, was the son of Dora (Levin) and Israel Patronsky of Garden Street, Hartford. He graduated from Weaver High School, class of 1939. After studying engineering for two years at the University of Connecticut, he enlisted in the Army, and on December 13, 1944 found himself in the Battle of the Bulge. Three days later, his platoon was captured and he bravely spent the rest of the war in a POW camp in Germany. After the war, Irving graduated from the New York University Business School and shortly after passed his CPA exams. He spent the next thirty years practicing accounting in New York City and West Hartford. Irving was respected and beloved by his family, friends and clients. He was warm, sweet and sensitive and at the same time had a playful sense of humor. He will be truly missed by his wife of forty six years Rachel (Rubinow) Patron, a son David Patron and his wife Michelle Patron of Bethesda, MD, a daughter, Doreen Patron of New York City, and two grandchildren, Max and Zoe Patron. He was predeceased by his brother, Marvin Patron, and is survived by Marvin’s son, Robert Patron. The funeral service will be held Thursday, May 30, at 1:00 PM at Beth El Temple Cemetery, 51 Jackson Street, Avon. Shiva will be after service on Thursday and all day Friday until sundown at our dear friend Barbara and Stanley Edelstein’s home, 4 North Cliff Drive, West Hartford.
