Irving R Becker

Born in 1929 in Sarny, Poland, Irving Becker, passed away peacefully at his home on November 28th at the age of 95. A Holocaust survivor, he overcame unimaginable challenges to build a life of resilience, love, and accomplishment.

Irving immigrated to the United States in 1949. He graduated from Weaver High School and later from the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy. For nearly 30 years, he owned and operated his own pharmacy, Ferndale Drug, serving his community with dedication and care.

Despite his difficult beginnings, Irving lived a life full of purpose and pride, raising a close-knit and loving family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Bella; his daughters, Terry and her husband Lee, Phyllis and her husband Bruce; his son Steven and daughter-in-law Melissa; and his cherished grandchildren, Cole, Nicole, Quentin, and Chase, his beloved brother Leo and many other cherished family members.

Irving will be remembered for his strength, kindness, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy is a testament to his determination and the enduring power of hope and perseverance.

Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 3rd, at Hartford Mutual Society Cemetery, 74 Wolcott Rd, East Granby. Shiva will be held at a private residence following the funeral from 1:30-4:00pm and Wednesday from 12-3pm.
