Irene (Tobias) Hufnagel

Irene (Tobias) Hufnagel, 89 years of age, of Bloomfield, widow of Stanley Hufnagel, died Monday, January 30, 2012. Born in England, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Gertrude (Goodman) Tobias. She was a Life Member of Hadassah, and a member of the Emanuel Synagogue of West Hartford. She leaves a son, Jeffrey Markel and his wife Zita of Bayfield, CO; a daughter, Dr. Susan Markel of Simsbury; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held TODAY, Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 12:00 Noon in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi David J. Small officiating. Interment will follow in the Teferes Israel Synagogue Cemetery, West Hartford. A memorial period will be observed at her home, 25 Bath Crescent La., Bloomfield, Tuesday following the interment through Thursday evening with Minyon at 4:45 pm.
