Ida (Shapiro) Silverman

Ida Shapiro Silverman, 85, of West Hartford, died Monday, March 23, 2009. Born in Norwich, she was the daughter of Julius and Rose (Bernstein) Shapiro, and beloved wife of the late Ralph Silverman. She was a member of Congregation Beth Israel in West Hartford. Ida was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was employed at the Immigration and Naturalization Service for 35 years before she retired. She is survived by her two daughters, Debbie Charbonneau and husband Paul of Wrentham, MA, and Judy Restelli and her husband Thomas of West Hartford. She also leaves 3 cherished grandchildren: Brendan, Alison, and Lindsey. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 26 at 11:00 AM in the Beth Israel Cemetery, Avon, with Rabbi Stephen Fuchs officiating. A memorial period will be observed at the home of Judy Restelli, 1380 Trout Brook Dr., West Hartford following the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Dr., PO Box 5022, Wallingford 06492 or to a charity of the donor?s choice.
