Ida (Schneider) Nearman

Ida Schneider Nearman, 97, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 6th, 2010. She was the daughter of Goldie and Julius Schneider of New Haven. She was a 1927 graduate of New Britain Normal School. Ida moved to Hartford when she married Aaron in 1939. They were married for 62 years before his death in 2001. Ida was a devoted mother to Harold (Lynn Rosen) and Myrna (Jay Rabin). She was a dedicated grandmother to Nancy Nearman Sweetman (Steve), Barbara Nearman Hackenyos (Dan), Jonathan Rabin (fiance of Amy Boyd), and Stephanie Rabin. Ida was also the proud Great Grandmother of Charlie and Sam Sweetman. She was predeceased by her sisters Doris Spivack and Bertha Abrams. Ida instilled in her family the importance of getting an education, working hard, and helping others. Her family would like to express their appreciation for the compassionate care Ida received at Hebrew Health Care (especially on 2N, Hospice, and the Coffee Shop). Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, January 8, 2010 at 1:00 PM in the Hartford Mutual Society Cemetery, East Granby. A period of mourning will follow at Harold?s home, 18 Barksdale Rd., West Hartford, through Sunday.
