Howard Cutler Redak, 60, of Old Saybrook, formerly of West Hartford, died unexpectedly Thursday, (June 9, 2005) at Middlesex Memorial Hospital. He leaves to mourn his death and treasure the many loving memories his brother, Daniel G. Redak of Old Saybrook; his brother, Harvey E. Redak and his wife, Justine of Chester; and many cousins, aunts and uncles around the world. He was predeceased by his parents, Saul and Anita (Cutler) Redak of Old Saybrook. He was known as a warm, kind, giving soul, and loved his years of playing football, coaching and teaching in New Britain, Bloomfield, Waterford and substituting at Valley Shore schools. He was a 1963 graduate of William Hall High School and a 1967 graduate of Springfield College. His master degree studies were at Southern Connecticut SU. He was very proud to have been a member of the only undefeated, untied varsity football team at Springfield College in 1965. He enjoyed the shoreline, his walks, bicycling and swimming at the beach and the YMCA and was an avid UCONN Husky basketball fan. Graveside services will be June 12, 10 a.m. at Cutler Family Circle Cemetery, Hurlburt St., West Hartford. Donations to Hospice at Middlesex Hospital or Congregation Beth Shalom Rodfe Zedek, Chester. Weinstein Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
