Helene (Leibowitz) Wachman

Helene (Leibowitz) Wachman, of Storrs, born February 11, 1935, she earned a B.A. from Brooklyn College and taught elementary school in New York City and Levittown, PA before coming to Storrs 42 years ago. She loved music, theater and literature and taught piano for many years. She is survived by her husband Murray, son Elliot and daughter-in-law Jill of Lakewood, NJ; son Ronald of Atlanta, GA; daughter Adina and son-in-law Charles Anflick of Brooklyn, NY. She is survived by her grandchildren Rachelli, Binyamin, Devora, Avromi, Chanina, Mordechai, and Shmuel; her brother Ephraim Leibowitz of Brooklyn, NY, and sister Rosalind Schilder of Chicago, IL. She was a special person, gentle, loving and caring and we will all miss her terribly. Funeral services will be held TODAY, Thursday, March 5, 2009 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford, with interment in Cedar Park Cemetery, Emerson, NJ. Shiva will be observed at her home: 34 Timber Drive, Storrs.
