Helen S. Weber of West Hartford died on Wednesday, October 13, 2010. Born on February 1, 1919 to Morris and Bertha (Hartman) Schreiber, she was the first daughter after four boys. She was predeceased by her four brothers and one sister. She spent the majority of her life living in New Jersey with her loving husband of 60 years, Julius, who passed away in July 2001. In 1986 they moved to Florida where they spent the next fifteen years enjoying friends and family prior to moving to Connecticut in 2002. She was a kind and compassionate person, always sending birthday and anniversary cards, and had a great passion for life. Family meant everything to her. She leaves her son: Steven and his wife Betty of West Hartford; her daughters: Susan Kobitz of Wellington, FL, and Bonnie Glazer and her husband Jeffrey of West Hartford. In addition, she also leaves her grandchildren: Jay Weber and his wife Amy of Glastonbury, Erica and Steve Levine of West Hartford, Melissa and David Richman of Stamford, Lynn Bouley of Florida, and Andy Kirschenbaum of Florida; as well as nine great grandchildren - all of whom will miss their great grammy - and other family cousins and many wonderful friends she made during her lifetime. The family wishes to extend its thanks and appreciation to the wonderful caring nursing staff on the Bliss wing at West Hartford Health and Rehab, as well as the great care she received from Masonic Hospice Care. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 15, 2010 at 1:30 PM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford. Interment will take place on Sunday, October 17, 2010 at 10:45 AM in Cedar Park Cemetery, Paramus, NJ. A memorial period will be observed at the home of Bonnie and Jeffrey Glazer, 38 Orchard Rd., West Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
