Helen (Rabinowitz) Levin Iver

Helen (Rabinowitz) Levin Iver, 75 years of age, of The Florida Keys and Westport, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2009 surrounded by her loving family. Born, Helen Libby Rabinowitz, on February 21, 1934, she graduated from Weaver High School, Hartford, class of 1952. She was the daughter of the late Jack and Rose (Alexander) Rabinowitz of Hartford. Helen is survived by her daughter, Sherri Hansen and her husband Keith of Key West, FL; her son, Marc Levin and his wife Janet Bulman of Edmonds, WA; her granddaughter, Emily Levin of Edmonds, WA; her sisters, Trudy Kagen and her husband Joe of Roslyn, NY, and Sally Patz of York, PA; her brother, William Rabinowitz and his wife Ruth of Farmington; and numerous nieces and nephews in CT, NY, FL and NV. Helen was a graduate of St. Agnes School of Nursing earning a LPN Nursing Degree and then went on to work in Pediatrics. She married Martin Levin of Hartford and moved to Westport to raise their two children Sherri and Marc. Helen was involved in so many things during her life, from entrepreneurial endeavors such as Amway, Personal Catering Services, Home Health Aid to supporting her son?s fledgling lawn career. She will also be remembered as the ever present and unconditional supporter of her daughter Sherri. Helen was an avid tennis player and winter skier, loved playing bridge and was ever gregarious and fun loving. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 8, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with interment following in the Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery, 1361 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield. Condolence calls may be made at the residence of Bill and Ruth Rabinowitz, 22 Chiltern St., Farmington on Saturday, May 9th, from 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen?s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association of CT, 306 Industrial Park Rd., Suite 105, Middletown 06457.
