Harriet “Happy” (Korowitz) Baggish, 84, of Simsbury Rd., West Hartford, wife of the late Irving Baggish, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford. Born in New York, NY, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Bertha (Dorfman) Korowitz. She was a member of Beth Hillel Synagogue, Bloomfield, JWI, Hadassah, and the Mandell Jewish Community Center of Greater Hartford. She leaves a son, Steven L. Baggish of Arlington, MA; a daughter, Andrea Rothstein and her husband Lance of Avon; three grandchildren who were her pride and joy: Danielle Rothstein, Rebecca Rothstein, and Eli Shear-Baggish; and a sister, Mickey Axelbank of The Bronx, NY. Despite obstacles in recent years, she was a valiant and selfless woman who touched many lives. The family wishes to thank the many family members, friends and caregivers who enabled her to keep flourishing. Funeral services will be held TODAY, Friday, August 28, 2009 at 3:30 PM in the Sanctuary of Beth Hillel Synagogue, 160 Wintonbury Ave., Bloomfield, with Rabbi Gary Atkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Beth Hillel Synagogue Cemetery, East Granby. A memorial period will be observed at the home of her daughter, 14 Wright Dr., Avon, through Monday evening.
