Hannah Maritzer, 93 of Farmington, CT, formerly of Bloomfield, CT, died peacefully at home on October 6, 2025.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Honey was the daughter of the late Moishe and Sonia (Zigman) Singerman and sister of Fran Kaufman.
Honey was enormously generous, kind, optimistic, and radiated a joie de vivre. She loved being a nursery school teacher, was a fervent UConn Huskies fan, a voracious reader, lover of music and Yiddish, and a lifelong learner. Honey was passionate about social justice, reproductive rights, and a fighter for the underdog. And, she loved ice cream and watching MSNBC.
Honey and Gerry, her beloved partner in life, enjoyed countless spontaneous adventures, traveling the world, cooking, and entertaining. There was always an extra seat at their table and all were welcome in their home.
It was family, above all else, that mattered most to Honey. She was a beloved and devoted wife to Gerry Maritzer for 67 years. She was also the mother of Allan Maritzer and his wife Lorraine; Susan Catsam and her husband Nick; Shelly Maritzer-Lawrence and her husband John Lawrence; Marla Maritzer and her wife Lisa McGrath; and a second mother to Diana Miller and her husband Scott Abrams. Through her children, she was fortunate to be Bubbie to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including: Scott Maritzer and his wife Danielle; Steven Maritzer and his wife Dulce Bravo-Maritzer; Ashley Contreras and her husband Christian; Marissa McDonald and her husband Brandon; Jessica Raitto and her wife Jenn; Daryn Catsam and his wife Kate; Matt Catsam; Nicholas Catsam and his wife Jenny Müller; Melissa Catsam; the late Joshua Maritzer-Lawrence; Aaron Maritzer-Lawrence; Wynter and Sterling Maritzer; Madelina, Mason and Logan Contreras, Estefania and Dominic Maritzer-Bravo; Landon and Kennedy McDonald; Jayce, Eloise, and Delilah Catsam; Josie and Colin Catsam; and Elias Miller-Abrams.
Honey was also a loving aunt, cousin, niece, and cherished friend to many.
We are deeply grateful for the happiness, love, and boundless joy that Honey brought to our lives.
Our family is tremendously thankful to Brenda, Rosalyn, Aryana, Cathy, Amanda, and Ashley for their most compassionate care, and to Erica for being our steadfast loving captain.
