Greta (Lowenstein) Meier of West Hartford, CT passed away peacefully at age 90 on Sunday, June 7, 2015; loving mother of Carolyn (Sam) Rosenfeld, Ron (Joyce Raynor) Meier, Leslie (Michael Hines) Meier and Debbie (Steve) Kleinman; loving daughter of the late Berthold and Martha Lowenstein; devoted sister of Jack (late Madge) Lawson and Ilsa (late John) Lebach; loving grandmother of Adam (Marcia) and Dan Rosenfeld, Rachel Meier and Jessica (Jason) Werner, Eric and Lauren Meier Hines; adored great grandmother of Kieran, Max, Oliver and Mia; also survived by nieces, nephews, other loving family, dear friends, and devoted caregivers Badria Abdalla and Donna Collins-Dixon. Born in Bocholt, Germany, she escaped Nazi occupation on the Kindertransport to England and immigrated to Baltimore, MD in 1946. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, June 9 in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford, CT with Rabbi James Rosen officiating. Interment at Beth El Temple Cemetery, Jackson St. Extension, Avon.
