Goldie (Bergerson) Lichter

Goldie (Bergerson) Lichter, 91 years of age, of West Hartford, CT, formerly of Brooklyn, NY, died Tuesday, October 21, 2014. She was the widow of Simon (Sid) Lichter. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Isadore and Yetta (Feigenbaum) Bergerson. She was a meticulous woman of high moral character who cared deeply for her family, remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, incredible memory, and generous spirit. She leaves her son, Dr. Arlen I. Lichter and his wife Audrey of West Hartford, CT; her daughter, Irene Schwartz and her husband Dr. Arnold Schwartz of Winston-Salem, NC; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Services were held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Star of David Memorial Chapel, 1236 Wellwood Ave., West Babylon, NY 11704 with Rabbi Brahm Weinberg officiating. Interment followed in Mt. Golda Cemetery, Huntington, NY. Shiva will be observed at the home of Audrey and Arlen Lichter, 106 Timberwood Rd. in West Hartford until Wednesday morning, October 29th. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to “The Sid Lichter and Abe Rubin Family Fund” (for Jewish Education) at The Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Hartford 333 Bloomfield Ave., Suite D, West Hartford, CT 06117. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford.
