Gloria (Benmaor) Turner

Gloria (BenMaor) Turner, 90, of West Hartford passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 25, 2015. She was the widow of Joseph Turner, her beloved husband of 58 years. Born in Hartford, she was one of seven children of the late Aaron and Esther (Matarasso) BenMaor. Gloria was known for her talented knitting and crocheting, passion for butterflies and unwavering love for her family, including those related by blood and marriage, as well as those she treated as her own through the years. A proud mother of three, she leaves her sons, Alan M. Turner and his wife Marcia of Danielson, and Stanley R. Turner and his wife Tina of West Hartford; her daughter, Robin Turner Fierman and her husband David of Glastonbury; her sisters, Mary Lipman and Rae Dembar both of Bloomfield; seven grandchildren, Joel Turner, Adam Turner, Frank Turner and his wife Amy, Chad Turner and his wife Karyn, Jason Turner, Heather Kaplan and her husband David, and Elizabeth Paige Fierman; and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, February 26, 2015 in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford. Interment will follow at Congregation Kol Haverim Cemetery, Jordan Lane Ext., Wethersfield. A memorial period will be observed Thursday following the interment through Sunday at the home of Robin and David Fierman, 159 Worthington Road, Glastonbury.
