Gloria (J. Solomon) Rich

Gloria J. (Solomon) Rich, 83, of Rye Ridge Parkway, West Hartford, beloved wife of 53 years of Leonard G. Rich, died Sunday, May 11, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Reuben and Zenobia (Rosenthal) Solomon of Hartford. She was a member of Temple Beth Israel, West Hartford, and a former member of Tumblebrook Country Club, Bloomfield, and the New London Yacht Club. She was a lover of animals and children, and especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved her two standard Poodles: Brandy and Magic. She was a philanthropist, giving to many animal charities. An avid boater, she lived on her boat in New London for many summers, making many friends. Besides her husband, she leaves her daughter, Donna Lubchansky and her husband Nathan of New London; two grandchildren: Gina Pressler and Sara Charunsep, as well as great grandchildren: Gavin Pressler, Lilly Pressler, and Lucien Charunsep. She was predeceased by her sister, Frances Feingold. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 16, 2008 at 11:00 AM in the Silberman Chapel at Congregation Beth Israel, 701 Farmington Ave., West Hartford. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 538 Preston Ave., PO Box 1004, Meriden, CT 06450, American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Dr., PO Box 5022, Wallingford, CT 06492, or to any animal charity of choice.
