Gertrude (Kurland) Fischer of West Hartford departed this life Sunday, (April 16, 2006) at the Hebrew Home & Hospital in West Hartford. Gertrude was born in Hartford on November 11, 1921 to the late Harry and Edith (Dorman) Kurland. Gertrude graduated from Weaver High School in 1939. She spent her early years of marriage in North Miami Beach, FL. She moved back to Connecticut in 1961 where she lived in West Hartford the rest of her life. Gertrude was a very fun loving and caring person to her family and many friends. She was married to her husband, Martin who predeceased her in 1986. She leaves her two sons, Larry and Peter Fischer of West Hartford. In addition to her sons, she leaves a daughter-in-law, Carol Fischer; and two grandchildren, Marc Fischer of Newington, and Tara Fischer of Astoria, NY. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Faye Rudnick and June Lieberman. She also leaves many cousins, nephews, nieces, wonderful friends and her loving brother-in-law, Merrill Lieberman and sister-in-law, Marion Newberg. Funeral Services will be TODAY 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave. with burial in the Hartford Mutual Society Cemetery, East Granby.
