Gerda (Karliner) Weinstein

Gerda (Karliner) Weinstein, 86 years of age, of West Hartford, passed away on Thursday, February 24th, 2011 at the Hebrew Home and Hospital, West Hartford. She was the widow of Max Weinstein, and had lived in the Hartford area since 1946. Born in Germany, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Mary Karliner. Gerda was a life time member of Hadassah, involved in ORT, and a member of the Emanuel Synagogue, West Hartford. Gerda devoted many years volunteering her time to help others. She is survived by her children: Judy Jones, Robert Weinstein, Fay Pelloth and husband Mark, and daughter-in-law Ronni Weinstein; her grandchildren: Mathew Jones and his wife Kristie, Marcie Jones, Michael Weinstein, Erica Clark and her husband Eric, and Samantha Weinstein and fiancee Patrick Cissne, Megan Pelloth, Max Pelloth and four great grandchildren. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Hebrew Home and Hospital for all of the years of compassionate care. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at 12:00 Noon, in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford, with Rabbi David J. Small officiating. Interment will follow in the Emanuel Synagogue cemetery, 1320 Berlin Tpk., Wethersfield. The family will receive relatives and friends at the home of Ronni Weinstein on Sunday following the interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington 06111.
