George Goodman

George Goodman, 93 years of age, of Wesleyan Terrace, Bloomfield, died Thursday, July 15, 2010. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Jacob and Yetta (Siegal) Goodman. He founded of the Geo Goodman Insurance Agency over 55 years ago. He was a member of Level Lodge #127 A.F. & A.M., and a member of Beth Hillel Synagogue, Bloomfield. George was an avid golfer and a lifelong NY Yankees Fan. He leaves his beloved wife, Ethel (Rosen) Goodman, son, Stan Goodman of Windsor, daughter, Barbara Shapiro and her husband Norm of Newington, grandson Todd Shapiro and his wife Jill, and great granddaughter, Zoe. He also leaves his sister, Lena Bernstein of South Hadley, MA. A graveside funeral service will be held TODAY, FRIDAY, JULY 16, 2010 at 1:00 PM in the Beth Hillel Synagogue Cemetery, Wolcott Rd., East Granby with Rabbi Gary Atkins officiating. A memorial period will be observed at his home, 38 Wesleyan Terrace, Bloomfield following the funeral.
