George Dembar

DEMBAR, George Dembar, 91, of Westbrook, formerly of Bloomfield, died Sunday, March 18, 2007 at Middlesex Hospital. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Edna and Michael Dembar. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he leaves his wife, Rachel BenMaor Dembar, after 66 years of a wonderful marriage. He was a former beautician and owner of Gloria George Beauty Salons in Hartford and George?s Beauty Studio in Bloomfield for over 50 years. He was a lifetime member of the John Hay Lodge #61, Knights of Pythias. He is also survived by his daughters, Mikki Dembar and fiance Paul Stankevich of Colchester, Jacqueline Greene and her husband Malcolm of Wayland, MA, Lani Langlois and her husband Jean-Pierre of Rocky Hill; seven grandchildren, Dawn Levesque, Erika Gildersleeve, Michael Matarasso, Matthew Greene, Kenneth Greene, Anique and Gabrielle Langlois of Rocky Hill; and great-grandchildren, Alejandro and Isabele Levesque, Emma Gildersleeve and Stefan Greene. The family would like to thank nurses Kelly McCue, Evelyn Close, Wendy and staff of Middlesex Hospital Hospice Care for their wonderful care. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with interment in Hartford Mutual Society Cemetery, East Granby. A memorial period will be observed on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 6-8 PM at 57 Riverview Rd., Rocky Hill.
