Gail R. Sohn

Gail R. Sohn (Kargman), 83, of Newington, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026.

Gail grew up in Hartford. She was the daughter of Jennie and Haskell Kargman. She graduated from Weaver High School in 1960.

Gail was predeceased by her beloved husband, Howard, to whom she was married for 58 years.

Gail served as a regional president of Women’s American O.R.T. She was a longtime member of Temple Sinai. She will be remembered for her kindness, sense of humor, and welcoming nature.

She is survived by her daughter, Gerrilyn Sohn of Astoria, New York; her sister, Harriet Itkin of Portland, Connecticut; several nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at Jefferson House for the care and support they provided to Gail.

The funeral will be held at Temple Sinai, 41 West Hartford Road, Newington on Wednesday, August 12th at 10am.
