Freda (Mehlman) Missan, 93, of Simsbury Road, West Hartford, widow of Max Missan, died Thursday, October 26, 2006. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Colman and Minnie (Meistrich) Mehlman. She was a member of the Emanuel Synagogue, West Hartford and a member of its’ Sisterhood which cited her as Woman of the Year. A Life Member of the Auxiliary of the Hebrew Home & Hospital, she served as a Board member and was an active volunteer. She was also a member of the Jewish Community Center, Jewish Historical Society, as well as a Life Member of Hadassah. She leaves two daughters: Arlene Neiditz and her husband Daniel of West Hartford, and Elinor Sondik and her husband Edward of Potomac, MD; five grandchildren: Jennifer Budlow and her husband Gary, Andrea Silverstein and her husband David, Steven Neiditz and his wife Leslie, Robert Sondik and his wife Joanna, and Karen Aframe and her husband Seth; as well as eleven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2006 at6 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Avenue, Hartford with Rabbi David J. Small officiating. Interment will follow in the Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery, Wethersfield. A memorial period will be observed at the home Arlene and Daniel Neiditz, 23 Timrod Road, West Hartford through Tuesday evening.
