Frank (R.) Lane

Frank R. Lane, 59, of Wethersfield, CT died June 2, 2014 after a courageous and heartbreakingly short battle with cancer, marked by the same strength and grace with which he lived his life. He leaves behind the love of his life, Heidi (Wasserzug) Lane. In characteristic loving style, Frank did all he could to prepare her to continue life without him. Frank also leaves his mother, Madaline M. Lane, of Hartford. He was predeceased by his father, Frank Walter Lane in 2009. He leaves a sister, Carol Fonicello, and her husband Scott, of North Branford. He leaves his sisters-in-law, Cathie Geary and her husband George of Rocky Hill and Jane DiSciacca and her husband Larry of West Simsbury. In addition, he leaves behind very special and treasured nieces and nephews, Rebecca DiSciacca and her husband Kevin Johnson of Hartford, and Jack DiSciacca and his fiancée Renee Sher of Redwood City, CA. He loved them unconditionally. Frank grew up in West Greenwich, RI. He obtained his pilot’s license at 17. At 18, he got a broker’s license and worked in the family real estate business while in college. Frank graduated from Rhode Island College in 1977 then received a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling in 1980. He held a professional counseling license. He retired from state service two years ago. Frank enjoyed traveling with Heidi, especially their trips to the Galapagos and Italy, running and road biking. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 6, 10 A.M. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield, with Rev. Joseph DiSciacca officiating. Burial will be immediately following at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. To sign the guest book for Frank, please go to www.weinsteinmortuary.com/funerals.cfm.
