Frances ((Sandler)) Wertheim

Frances Sandler Wertheim of Tamarac, FL and Old Lyme, CT passed away November 27 with her daughter Pamela by her side in Ft Lauderdale, FL. She was born April 29, 1926, in Hartford, to the late Jack Sandler and the late Sarah (Syd) Sandler, Oken, Wertheim. Frances was the devoted and beloved wife, for 67 years, of the late Conrad E. Wertheim, (2012). She graduated from Weaver High School in 1944 and married her Marine, Conrad, May 13, 1945. Frances worked for a number of years at a West Hartford beauty salon as a manicurist. After retiring, Conrad and Frances spent winters in Florida and summers at Old Colony Beach. She enjoyed gatherings at the beach with her family, a good card game with the ladies and the visits of her cousins, Sherwin and Gail Levy, in Florida. Frances leaves behind her daughters Pamela and her husband Leonard Grossman of Vernon and Hollis and her husband Wayne Griffin of West Hartford. She leaves her two grandsons, Jonathan Grossman and Lisa Cates of Groton and Heath Grossman and his wife, Jetaun Dobbs of Simsbury. GG leaves her cherished great-grandchildren, Max, Dylan, Nate and Gabriel Grossman. A private funeral will be held today.
