Frances (Zeldner) Nadler

Frances Nadler of La Jolla, CA, formerly of West Hartford, died at the age of 92 at UCSD Thornton Hospital in La Jolla, CA on Dec. 24th, 2009. Frances was born on Feb. 8, 1917, in Hartford, the daughter of the late Mayer and Yetta (Stein) Zeldner. Frances was a nurse, and did her nurses’ training at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, the same hospital where she was born. Frances was a devoted mother and housewife. She also sang in the Connecticut Opera Association for 26 years.She and her husband, Jack, moved to California in 1970. In California, Frances pursued her love of tennis for many years. She was also an avid theater and opera advocate. Fran leaves three children: her son, Dr. Ronald Nadler, and his wife Beverly of West Hartford; and daughters: Myrna Cutler of Reseda, CA, and Dr. Karen Padovani and her husband, Dr. Augusto Padovani of Rome, Italy. Fran also leaves five grandchildren, Dr. David Nadler, Wendy Morello, Stacey Nadler, Amy Montenegro, and Steven Cutler; and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 31st, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford, with Rabbi Jeffrey Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in the Hartford Mutual Society Cemetry, East Granby. Following the funeral, friends and relatives will be welcomed to her son?s home at 82 Cliffmore Rd., West Hartford. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor?s choice.
